Adam has had a cold the last week and has not been sleeping very well at all. Towards the end of the week his cough was getting better, so last night when I put him to bed, I didn't clip his soother on, knowing full well he would lose it pretty early on in the night. He woke up around 3:45am and cried until 5:30am. I went in to calm him down a couple of times, and he was just smacking his lips the whole time - I could tell he was desperately searching for his soother. He actually did better today during the day than I thought he would - he cried for an hour before his morning nap, but then slept for over two and a half hours. He only cried for ten minutes before his afternoon nap, really giving me hope for bedtime, but that has proved to not be as successful so far. He's on 45 minutes and still going. I went in there once already to calm him down and got him completely relaxed, but I think I left a bit too abruptly. I know this will only take a few days, but it's very hard to hear him wailing away in his crib when he's been such a good sleeper for so long. Here's hoping he does okay tonight! Brian and I are pretty tired!
Lynsey has been loving her new train set and playing with it lots. I'm really looking forward to the day that Adam can play with her, because it's a bit awkward for me to play with her (the table's pretty low to the ground for an adult!). I love hearing her use her imagination in all her games and play - so much fun! She got a bunch of girly stuff for Christmas at the Penner Christmas and has been glossing her lips and painting her nails (and mine) non-stop for a week. She's actually not that bad at painting her nails! Her accuracy is improving:).
