Last weekend, I took Lynsey and some nieces up to La Crete for my niece Sharlyn's wedding. We did the whole drive there on Friday and then the whole drive back on Monday. It was a lot of driving. We had fun while we were there, though! Lynsey had a blast with her cousins and my friends' kids! She did so well on the drive, too - watched a lot of movies on the way there, but on the way back, didn't ask for a movie until Whitecourt (close to 6 hours in!). I love that she's at such a good age to travel - can't wait until Adam is there, too.
So Adam cut one of his eye teeth completely while we were gone, but it doesn't look like the others have come through yet. He's not as grouchy these days, so I think he's taking a bit of a break. He's becoming a bit of a blankie suck these days! He just started wanting his blankie during the day for comfort, which I admit is a monster that I created with Lynsey and am not stopping with Adam, either. If my kids are going to have comfort items, I would rather it be a blankie than a soother or a bottle, but that's just me! Lynsey is sort of just outgrowing her blankie slowly, and I'm sure Adam will, too.
Oh, another thing - while I was gone, Adam apparently became a lot more interested in books! He now brings us books and whines for us to read them quite often. He loves this book called "Wheels on the Bus" - I have to sing it to him over and over again when he brings it to me.
Lynsey still refuses to ride her bike. It's been a few weeks now, and we are really struggling with how to deal with this. She did the same thing with the pool - she was doing great, had one scary moment, and then didn't want to go swimming for ages. I don't want her to miss out on a whole summer of fun on her bike because of an irrational fear. So far, pushing her back onto her bike has not worked, but I'm afraid to let her just not ride it for months and months! She needs to learn to get over her fears - her confidence gets shaken so easily. We are going to try today to let her walk her bike to the park, but she has to try riding it around on the path there - it's a circle around the playground, totally flat, so hopefully she can gain some confidence back.
