I started this day with the one and only run that I did the whole vacation (one is better than none, right??). I saw yet another beautiful rainbow and snapped a pic - is it possible to get "bored" with rainbows?? It was quite amazing how many we saw! That day, Brian and I took the kids to the Ko'Olina Lagoons. There are 4 man-made Lagoons all in a row on the western side of the island, and the water is nice and calm. Great for the kids! Adam started off in a bit of a ranting mood, but he recovered quickly and ended up having a great day!! This was the day he really turned around and we had no more major problems with him. He loved the calm water, and it was much less crowded than Waikiki so he could sprinkle sand to his heart's content. Brian got some sea urchin needles stuck in his finger early on, so he was in a bit of pain for a while unfortunately. Both him and I were able to take turns doing some snorkeling by the rocks which was really fun! We really wanted Lynsey to try it, and she definitely wanted to, but she was a bit afraid and just refused to give it a go. I know she was disappointed because she would have really liked to go, but her fear held her back. We didn't push it, she has to learn some things on her own I guess. A few days earlier, her and Brian had been able to see some fish under the water at Waikiki so I'm glad she at least had that experience. I know in a year or two, she will be right into snorkeling! Definitely up her alley!
The kids were having a great time but we were all getting hungry so we left in the early afternoon. That night, Brian and I got to go to a luau while Mark and Frances and Stella watched the kids for us! It was fun, the guide on the bus was really funny and the luau was a pretty cool experience. I'm not sure I would go again to the same luau, just because once you've "done it" you don't really need to do it again, but I might try a different one some other time.
All in all, a good day!
