Closing in on summer!

It took a while, but it's STARTING to feel like Spring around here! We've had a few warm days, although not as many as I would have thought by mid-May:-/. It's fun to get outside and do some yard work, nothing too intense since we don't really know what we're doing (there is a whole side of our back yard where I can't tell what's supposed to be there and what isn't! Might have to get a local in to help me out!). Brian's parents are coming to visit this weekend so hopefully the weather is at least moderate - highs of 12 degrees Celsius with rain are getting a bit old!

The biggest news of the last several weeks for Lynsey was the acquisition of her very own Hatchimal. She could barely contain herself after coming home from her friend Alice's party, where Alice had been lucky enough to receive one as a gift from her sister. She could not wait, so the next day we went to Target and were able to secure one for her (which she paid for with her allowance). The stupid thing didn't want to hatch for ages so it took a little trouble shooting, but thankfully it made it's way into the world where it was her obsession for at least a few days:-S. Good times!

What else has been happening . . . Nathan had a field trip to the zoo with his class last week which was a lot of fun. I had two teacher appreciation weeks to try and keep up with, nothing to make you feel like a failure like lists of daily items for each of your kids to do/bring to school! Hopefully all our kids teachers felt adequately appreciated by us, I am just the worst at that kind of thing! Oh of course we had a lot of fun watching the Oilers in the playoffs, what an exciting run! Disappointing that it had to end, but it was fun to see them go so far after so many years of absolutely nothing good happening.
