Back to real life, renovation continues, pumpkin patch visit

Life has settled back into normal routine for me, doesn't take long and you feel like you were never away! As I remember from my past experiences with jet lag, I felt much more tired coming back this way than I did going over there, but it was not a huge problem settling back in. I didn't talk much in my last post about how the home front fared while I was away, but it all went pretty well. Brian's parents came on the Saturday after I left and stayed until Tuesday, helping Brian out a lot. Brian and his dad got to go on a fishing boat that Saturday, even caught a few fish I understand!

Brian's dad flew out here the Wednesday after I got home (the 10th) to help Brian with our reno, getting ready for the plumber to come do his thing. It was a huge help! He worked here while Brian was at his "day job", and then they worked together in the evenings and weekends. The kids loved having Grandpa around as well! He stayed until this past Tuesday, and the plumber came out on Friday. Now Brian just has to finish the electrical work, the inspector has to come, and then we get dry wallers in I guess. Brian still might do the dry walling himself, but we are VERY hopeful that we can get a dry walling company that will give us what Brian considers to be a reasonable quote! Labor is so expensive, but this is not something we want to do ourselves if we can avoid it. We will see what happens!

Yesterday we took the kids to The Farm, another pumpkin patch visit is in the books! The kids had a great time, Adam could spend the entire time in the corn pit I'm pretty sure. Lynsey got to go to another corn maze in the evening with the girl scouts, lucky girl!

Brian is leaving this afternoon on a work trip, he is going to Israel again. The kids are a bit sad but I'm sure we will manage. We have a bit of a groove going for when Brian is gone, and as long as Adam basically understands when he is coming back, he copes very well with it. I am hoping this time will be the same! He comes back on the 29th (he was NOT allowed to be gone over Halloween!) and then we have Lynsey's birthday festivities on the Saturday after he gets back. She will be 11, wow! I wish I liked planning parties more, I find it so stressful:-/. Of course, she is the opposite of me and LIVES for her birthday and has a ton of expectations for it! Hopefully I can survive the pressure and she isn't let down by it all! The joys of being a parent!
