Camping fun!

Well it may be summer, but we haven't seen a lot of summery weather just yet! We did go camping last weekend over in Jefferson County on the other side of the sound, and the weather was just okay. It was cold at night - very cold - and I was not prepared. The kids slept well thankfully, I have just been spending this week catching up on sleep! We left Thursday and spent three nights at Dosewallips Campground, it was a lot of fun! Lynsey and Nathan had their bikes there so they had a great time biking with the other kids. Nathan is still gathering his confidence on the bike, but this weekend I think really helped him. We did a few hikes, sat around the fire, just had general camping fun. I have to admit I have a love/hate relationship with camping and it's always a bit of a relief when it's over:-/. The kids love it so much that it's worth all the work!

Lynsey has been at Sambica all week and is having a great time! We are waiting for some warmer weather so we can swim in our pool again, Nathan and I went in for a bit yesterday afternoon but the water is still pretty cold. I still managed to enjoy floating around in the sunshine, just need that water to warm up! Adam won't go in if it's too cold.

We are pretty sure the Canadian border will stay closed at least through August, so we canceled our camping weekend with Bobbi and Jer in Salmon Arm. Maybe we will try and do a road trip to California during that time, although the Covid cases in California are really going through the roof right now so I'm wondering if they will start to shut things down again. What a mess this pandemic is. Seriously. What will it be like to look back on this time in a few years?? I sure can't wait to put it in my rear view mirror, that's for sure!
