Summer camps and summer swimming!

We have settled in to summer here at home after our big trip! Lynsey had a week at Sambica last week which she really enjoyed, and Nathan is there this week. He had a great first day yesterday which was awesome! He doesn't know anyone else so I was a bit worried about how it would go, but he had a lot of fun and was really excited to go banana boating today:-). Lynsey has a volleyball camp at the high school this week, which I am hoping will go well for her. I don't know if she will be able to make the team this year or not, but I do know that doing this camp should help her become known to the coaches, and show them that she is keen to play.

We were quite busy that first several days after we got back, setting things up in the house and the backyard. We finally got our pool set up! The weather was a bit chilly last week most days, but this week has been beautiful and the pool has been in daily use since Friday:-). Adam has been really enjoying it, and has on a few occasions spent two hours plus in there at one time! Great addition to our backyard!

Adam started therapy again last week. He was not happy to see Meaghan the first day she came (our first Friday back), and there was a lot of yelling:-/. She came back again last week on Tuesday, and his reaction was much better - a bit of yelling at the start, but by the end he seemed fine with her there - even let her jump on the trampoline with him! The new therapist came with Meaghan on Thursday, and he really seems to like her! Her name is Kathryn, and she came again yesterday (by herself this time) and he was happy as can be! What a relief - I was pretty worried he would be angry about starting therapy again for a long time. She is very friendly and easy to talk to, and he seems to have decided she's okay haha. I know there can be a "honeymoon" period with therapists, so we will see how it continues to progress, but I am definitely optimistic that this will be a good fit. It's nice for Adam to have something in his day, he needs a bit of a routine. We are starting with just two days a week, but if it goes well we will bump it up to three and four days eventually.

We have a relaxing weekend this weekend, and then next weekend we are going camping in Ocean City by the coast. I'm just hoping it doesn't rain, especially since we have another fire ban this summer. It won't be very warm, this we know already because it doesn't seem to get over 18 degrees Celsius very often, but if it's dry it will be just fine! Camping - so much work, but so much fun for the kids (and I enjoy it somewhat lol).
