Home for the 4th of July - for once!

Summer is officially here, and we have had a couple of really warm days. Not many considering that it's July 4th, but at least we have had a few shorts days! The kids have been hanging around the house not doing a whole lot, enjoying some down time after school ends and our trip to Alberta begins. Brian had his last day of work before his recharge last Tuesday so he has been off for several days now. I have been helping coach summer volleyball at the high school which has been really fun - looking forward to the season! It's not 100% official that I will be helping coach but I would say it's looking more and more likely. Lynsey has been working hard and improving her skills, I think she has a decent chance of making the team if she keeps this up.

We are leaving for Kamloops tomorrow, and boy are we all glad we won't have to hear "we're going to Kamloops in . . . " from a certain boy who shall not be named:-l. Seriously, Adam has been driving us insane waiting for this trip. I get that he looks forward to these vacations but there were days when he just kept getting stressed out even as we were showing him the calendar and talking about all the things we were doing before the trip, and then the things we would do during the trip...the trip just wasn't coming quickly enough for him. I hope he's not disappointed now that it's finally here!

Brian and I are getting so excited for our trip to Paris! I can't believe it's coming up on Thursday! I'm a little nervous hearing about how crazy the airports are but we are just going to get there really early and try and be as laid back as humanly possible. Travelling just the two of us already means I am a bazillion times more relaxed than when we travel with the kids, so I feel like we can get through it:-). Just feeling so lucky to have this opportunity at all!

My next post will be after our trip, so hopefully I have lots of exciting things to share! Can't wait!
