Life is chugging along as it always does, and here we are nearly at the end of October! School volleyball came to an end yesterday as Lynsey played her last game, they got really close to winning against a team that beat them quite badly earlier in the season! They have improved a lot and it was a great season for Lynsey, and now she is ready for Club;-). There is a one month break now before Club starts which will be good for her I think, we all need a break even from things we love to do!
We had our family pictures taken last Saturday. I think the session went pretty well, although I haven't seen any pictures yet. The kids did well, thankfully Adam was fully recovered this week and so happy every day! I think this was the happiest he has ever been for family pictures, so I'm really hoping there are some good ones of him in particular. As always I am relieved they are over and I hope they turned out okay!
Nathan also ended his school basketball season this past week, which he was actually a bit sad about. I'm glad he enjoyed it so much! The parks and recreation season will start soon, and Brian is coaching his team again this year so I'm hoping they both enjoy that.
The garage room is marching along! Drywall finished up at the end of the week last week, and Brian got busy finishing up all the electrical stuff. I painted the ceiling on Monday and the walls on Wednesday, now we just have to clean up that room and get the flooring out of the boxes to climatize it before we can install it. I leave for Hawaii in just over a week, and I don't know if Brian will try and do the floor while I'm gone or wait until I get home so I can help him. Either way it's looking very achievable that the room will be done by the time his parents come to visit for Thanksgiving:-). What a huge load off of Brian's mind in particular, I wish I could have helped him out more. I will help with cleaning up and getting ready for the floor, and I'll paint all the baseboard when it comes in (will paint and then install it and just touch it up - too much work otherwise:-l). I am now looking at furniture for the room! How exciting!
Another big thing that happened for Lynsey this week is she passed her driving test! Hurray! I have an appointment made for her to get her license on her birthday next Friday. I know that was a big goal for her, and she's worked really hard to achieve it. Hard to believe she will be able to get in a car and take off by herself in a week. That hasn't quite hit me yet!
