Have we been a bit obsessed with the Oiler's cup run this year? Maybe. Is it healthy? As long as the Oilers are winning, everything is fine! Obviously we DID win that all important game 7 I talked about in the last blog post, and last night finished off Dallas in 6 games! Wow has it ever been fun watching them lately! Ever since about 5 minutes into that 4th game, that series was all Oilers and I just had a feeling they would be able to finish Dallas off yesterday - and they did! Obviously another very tough opponent coming up in Florida, but the fact that we right there with them in the final is so exciting. Go Oilers!
What else has been going on in life . . . I haven't been taking many pictures lately. I should take more of everyday stuff, will try and remember to do that this month. Last weekend we had our last volleyball tournament, the Emerald City Classic at UW. No victories unfortunately, Lynsey did have some good moments so hopefully she feels she had a reasonable end to the season. It was an emotional end because she felt so discouraged that they just didn't win much, but I kept reminding her that there are lots of things to learn from seasons like this that can help her in her next volleyball season, and just in life in general. She is excited for school volleyball and she is doing some group training over the next few weeks to hopefully sharpen up her skills a bit.
We got to see our friends James and Sarah this weekend! They were in Seattle for a hockey camp for Emily, so on Saturday I went over to the rink to hang out with them a bit while they were watching. That evening, Lynsey and I went to her friend Sofia's mom's 50th birthday party which was a lot of fun! We got dressed up and it was a fun party, I hung out with Arabella's mom Annette the whole evening. Yesterday, James and Sarah came over in the afternoon and we had ribs for dinner and watched the glorious game 6 together. So much fun to watch such an exciting game with old friends!
Just over 3 weeks of school left! I can't believe another summer is almost upon us! We don't actually have that much going on this summer, hopefully we can throw in a few small getaways here and there. Lynsey has a lot going on, but other than a trip to Calgary in July we don't have that much. Especially for Adam's sake I will have to dream up some outings, he gets bored at home (understandably so).
Stanley Cup finals start on Saturday! HERE.WE.GO!
