Wow it's been almost three weeks since my last post! I don't usually slack this badly:-/. I have been quite preoccupied, I guess! What have we been up to . . . Canadian Thanksgiving with friends, pumpkin patch with friends, Christmas shopping (yep you heard right, almost done!), getting ready for Brian to switch jobs. Yep, if you haven't heard, Brian is changing jobs! He is making the move over to Facebook! He starts on Monday, so I guess it's okay to announce it now (he can do his own post elaborating on it if he wants to, although I doubt he will:-S). It means a lot of change for him, which he doesn't love, but sometimes change is good and necessary! Is it because Amazon is as bad a place to work as the New York Times article you made have heard of depicts it to be? Not really. Facebook has a great reputation as being a fabulous company to work for. There are some cool perks at Facebooks - more stat holidays, free food (they would have had me at the free food, and apparently GOOD free food, too!). Brian will be off to Menlo Park, CA for a few days training this Sunday night, and then he will go back the first two weeks in December (yikes!). And now you know why I am right on top of Christmas prep! Let's just say I will be otherwise occupied in December. He gets back and like a few days later we leave for Honolulu, so December is going to be a crazy month!
I feel like I'm babbling, time to focus now. Speaking of babbling, Nathan has become quite the chatterbox in the past month. He just talks and talks and talks . . . and maybe it feels like he talks a lot because Adam doesn't, but seriously! I love him for his curiosity and observations, but I have to admit there are days we are driving somewhere and I would really like nothing more than for some peace and quiet:-/. He's a smart little guy, that's for sure! He's going to be Emmitt from the Lego Movie for Halloween and he looks pretty cute in his little sweatsuit and homemade Piece of Resistance (I did my best, I am no craftswoman!).
I bought Adam a policeman costume for Halloween but so far he has only put the jacket on while at school. I am hoping he will put the pants on for at least a photo op before trick or treating (which of course will not happen either, but you know, gotta try!). Lynsey is going as a mermaid. At first she wanted to go as a Minecraft guy, but I couldn't bear to spend $20+ on a cardboard box for her head that would be uncomfortable and hard to see out of. I would have liked for her to deviate from the princess theme she's had going on the last few years, but at least it's not a blonde princess this time:-/. She is loving her piano lessons which is kind of a nice surprise! She also just passed another level in her swimming lessons, so she is almost ready for swim team! One more month of lessons and she will be good to go:). So proud of her hard work!
I think I will leave things there and try and do another blog post with all the pumpkin carving/Halloween/Lynsey's birthday pics in another week or so. Wish Brian luck on his new job if you can! And add him to your Facebook, now that he works there he needs to learn how to use it lol!;)

Monday Night Football!! And other things!:)
So what have we been up to! Well, the highlight of the last few weeks for me was when we won tickets to watch the Seahawks play the Lions on Monday night! FEAT, the organization that runs Adam's school, has 4 tickets that they give away to every Seahawks home game (well, actually the tickets belong to the GM of the Seahawks, John and Traci Schneider - they are very involved in the Autism community because their son has Autism). I always enter but I never win because everyone comes out of the woodwork to enter to win these tickets. This time they only included the names of families that had kids at RSA so our odds shot right up to 1 in 14! Still a good chance we wouldn't get them, but by some miracle we DID get them!! So exciting!! Our friends Jaqui and Joey came with us and we had such a great time at the game. What a great experience!
I feel like Adam has really come along the last few weeks! He is starting to respond a lot more to questions and I swear I had a conversation with him the other day (I posted it on Facebook, basically he asked for '10 more minutes' in the tub when I came to see if he wanted to get out, it was pretty cool!). He can go for months without showing a ton of improvement, but then he can show lots of improvement in a short time! One of his favorite teachers, one that has been there from the beginning, had her last day at RSA today which is very sad for all of us:(. I'm glad he has learned to work with the other teachers, as I think it will mean he will miss Kimberly a bit less (he'll still miss her, though!).
Lynsey starts piano lessons next week! We'll see how it goes! She also passed Level 3 in swimming so she is on to Level 4 - a lot more lane swimming. She continues to be interested in getting better so maybe we have finally found her "thing"! I'm not holding my breath, it has only been a month!
We did our family pictures last weekend! The weather was beautiful, but Adam was not in the best of moods:(. He was very difficult to manage and we were a bit flustered and didn't get all the pictures we wanted. They turned out pretty good, though - I am always amazed that there are some good ones after what feels like such a chaotic photo shoot!
Just for fun: Nathan is turning into quite the dude. We have been trying to enforce no Lego in the van (you can imagine why this has caused us some issues!) but Nathan is trying hard to sneak it in there! I caught him bringing one of his guys into the van today and he says, "Mom trust me, I will leave it in my cup holder. I promise!" Well if a 3 year old tells you to trust him, what choice do you have, right?? Lol! He is growing up pretty fast! He still lets me snuggle him a lot which I love, he truly is my baby<3.
