We are back from our camping trip to Ocean City! As the weekend drew closer, it was becoming apparent that the forecast was not going to be ideal, so we tried to prepare for rain as best we could. The drive out to Ocean City on Thursday was very smooth, Adam was very happy on the drive and did not stress about traffic once. It was quite refreshing! Unfortunately this chill did not extend to our arrival at the campground where to his dismay, he discovered that it was drizzling:-/. We tried to set up camp as quickly as possible so he would have a dry place to be, but man was he unhappy about it! He did settle down after having a burger for dinner and having some Kindle time in the tent.
Friday turned out to be a beautiful day! Not very warm but sunny for most of the day. We spent a lot of time at the beach, even letting Jasper spread his wings off leash. He did very well off leash actually - by the end of the weekend we were letting him hang out at the campsite off leash as well. He needed supervision of course, but he quite reliably hung around his people. Saturday was not as nice, and it rained until mid-afternoon. Adam actually did surprisingly well (honestly better than a lot of the adults!) but I think it was a struggle for him to hold it together. He had a pretty rough time with his repeating, and it drove Brian and I quite insane by the end of the weekend. The rain did let up and we were able to head back to the beach in the evening with one of our propane fires which was fun. Sunday morning there was a short rain shower but then the sun came out, which was nice for packing up. All in all a good weekend, even with the less than desirable weather!
Looking forward to a few lazy weeks at home and then one last camping trip on the last weekend of August. Maybe we can avoid the rain this time!
