Weeks leading up to Spring Break

I should have really done a blog post before we left for our trip, but as it turned out, it was a pretty busy week! I am still working out how much I want to work, it's a tricky balance for sure. I did enjoy getting my first paycheck! It wasn't a whole lot but it was cool to see the actual fruits of my labor for the first time in a lot of years lol. On the Friday before Spring Break, I was subbing in the office at Margaret Mead Elementary, when the Office Manager asked if I wanted to do two Kindergarten Music classes in the afternoon. I decided to go for it - have to get my feet wet sometime! It went pretty well actually! I am definitely still apprehensive about taking just any job, but I think I'm just going to have to dive in at some point. I think I'll probably have a chance this week if I want it, the Office Manager at Clara Barton has asked me a few times if I wanted to fill in for teachers there but both times I couldn't. I told her I was free Tuesday so we'll see if she texts me Tuesday morning.

What else happened the few weeks before Spring Break . . . we swapped the boys so that Adam is sleeping on the bottom bunk now. It was time, he was getting too big to lumber up those stairs to the top bunk. So far so good! Other than that, not a whole lot. I'll dive into our Spring Break trip on the next post:-).

San Francisco Girl's Trip!

I had a fun weekend in San Francisco with some friends this past weekend! We left Friday morning and got there around noon. Our hotel room wasn't ready so we stowed our bags and got some lunch at a nearby cafe. Took a cable car part of the way to the bike rental shop, stopped at the top of Lombard Street briefly for the obligatory selfie:-). We got our bikes and biked across the Golden Gate bridge - so fun! It was a bit windy and there were a lot of hills, but it was a really cool experience. We biked over to Sausalito and got some ice cream before taking the ferry back to San Fran. We barely made it back to the bike shop before it closed (phew!) and made our way back to the hotel to get ready for our dinner at Tadich Grill - the highlight for me! I had such good memories of going to this restaurant when Brian and I were there, and it was another great experience! We even had such a funny thing happen when some random guy propositioned Elisse with a dirty old business card lol! We laughed so hard! We had a really fun evening, great first day in San Fran!

Saturday we slept in a bit and made our way to towards the GoCar place. We had a delicious brunch and got on a cable car to get us a bit closer to our destination. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest, but the rain did hold off for the most part. We got our little GoCars (which honestly felt like little toy cars lol!) and toured around San Fran for the afternoon! It was such a fun way to see the city, and if the weather had been warmed would have been even better. I did question if it was completely safe, but we made it haha! Everyone wanted some beignets so we went to this restaurant around 5 for a bit of a pre-dinner snack before heading to the room for some down time before our late dinner. The dinner was delicious, a great end to a great day!

On Sunday, we got checked out and stowed our bags before walking down to the ferry dock. We took the ferry to Sausalito where we walked to a great little brunch place. The weather was really nice which was much appreciated! We wandered through a few shops before it was time to head back to the ferry. We walked through Chinatown on the way back and got our bags and off we went to the airport! A great girls weekend in the books!
