It's been a cold January, but thankfully no snow - yet! Cold also usually means less rain so that's been really nice as well. The boys settled back into school after the long break and I have settled into coaching, three day tournament last weekend. Unfortunately I had a lot of girls out so was working with 7 players most of the weekend (8 on Sunday). It was good for the girls that were there, lots of valuable playing experience, but it didn't do much for our win record to have girls playing outside of their regular positions:-/. It was definitely frustrating at times, especially on Monday losing in bracket play to a team we absolutely should have beat. No matter - we are back at it Sunday for a tournament with 10 of 11 players present so hopefully we can have a good tournament!
We've had some contractors out to look at our upstairs bathrooms as we are hoping to get those redone here in the next few months. Pretty exciting! So far we've had three guys come out, we have quotes from two of them already and waiting for a third. First guy is out to lunch, his quote was crazy high and with no detail, he just threw out a huge range of numbers because he couldn't be bothered to break it down. We like the second guy, he was a nice guy who seemed quite knowledgeable and he came back with a detailed quote in the range we were expecting. We also liked the third guy so we'll see what he comes up with. Encouraging at least that it seems like we'll be able to find someone to do the job. Looking forward to nice new bathrooms upstairs! Not looking forward to the hassle it will be to have it done!
Not much else to report around here. Andy is here again from Australia so we've been enjoying our visit with him. Once again I'm struck at how I never take pictures anymore! Teenagers are not a fan of candid photos, Nathan is getting to be right there with Lynsey these days. He couldn't stop me from taking a picture of him sleeping though:-D.
