Equestrian camp success, great camping weekend!

To pick up where I left off on the last blog post, the rest of Adam's equestrian camp was a big success! Every day he got more comfortable riding the horse, and I was even able to leave him earlier and earlier each day! He loved to trot especially, the little thrill seeker in him was a big fan:-D. The worst part of it was how sad he got when it was over! He cried and cried, it was so heart breaking to watch! We were so glad he was enjoying something so much that he was disappointed that it was over, but it was so hard to not be able to just give him that thing that he wanted. After all these years of not really caring one way or another about most activities, he finally loved something and we wanted him to never have to stop doing it! I got him on a waiting list to do an adaptive riding class at Little Bits Riding, which is a riding place really close by that specializes in special needs kids. Hopefully the wait isn't too long!

We went to Vancouver for the day last Sunday because our friends Matt and Kirsten were in town for vacation. We met them at a park and had a great time catching up! After they left we hung out at the outdoor pool that was right there for a while. The weather has been fantastic! This past weekend we went camping with friends down near Mt. St. Helens. We had a great time! We explored some caves, checked out the Mt. St. Helens Visitor Center, some of us went down to hang out at a river close by. The kids had a great time! The adults stayed up quite late talking every night which was also a lot of fun, but now I have some sleep to catch up on lol! We got home yesterday afternoon, I cleaned up the camping stuff and then in the evening, our friends Henry and Precy came to stay with us for a night. They just left this afternoon, was fun catching up with them before they head off on a big trip in September. We are also leaving on a trip on Wednesday, but only for a week so not quite as big;-). We are going on a road trip to Yellowstone, hopefully we have a good trip! We are meeting Mark and Frances and Stella there. Lots of driving, lots of swimming at hotels, and seeing some geysers. Should be a good time!
