February has been a bit of a blur! Lynsey had her drama production that first weekend, and it went really well! She really enjoyed the experience, I think it was very good for her. Brian left for London that Sunday (the 2nd) and was gone until Saturday. The kids and I managed fine, tried to keep things very simple while he was gone.
Brian's parents came to visit this past Wednesday over the kids' mid-winter break. We just hung out at home that first day (Thursday), I took the kids to some appointments, did a bit of shopping with Frances. On Friday we all got in the van and headed to Leavenworth for one night. It was a nice little getaway! The weather was great, and the kids loved the outdoor pool at the hotel. That evening, we left the kids at the hotel and went downtown for about an hour or so. Leavenworth is quite pretty at night with all the lights! The next day we went swimming one more time before checking out and went downtown with the kids before heading back home. It was nice to get out and do something fun on the break!
Sunday and Monday were pretty low key. Nathan got his birthday present a bit early from Grandma, he loved his book making kit:-). We are having some beautiful weather the last few days which I am welcoming with open arms! It was raining so much that week Brian was gone that school even had a late start one day because there was flooding in some areas! I don't think I've ever seen it so wet here in my almost seven years of living here. If it's not snow, it's something else - definitely ready for Spring already!
